GDM Academy Launches 13 Week Course in AI-IoT and Data Science

GDM Academy New Course – New Partners : we are very excited to complete our first collaboration with one of the most prestigious private universities in Japan. We created a 13 week undergraduate course “Applied Data Curation” for the College of Global Liberal Arts supported by a leading German Technical University. Our team’s challenge : how to create a dynmaic course for international students that combines Liberal Arts and Engineering programmes to give effective learning outcome, and be great fun, too?. Non-technical vs technical? Soft vs hard-skills. This challange is part of a broader conversation in higher-education about what skills are most needed for employability in modern, technology-driven society. Across 13 dynamic study-weeks, students learnt key elements of data science, data ethics, embedded sofware and edge hardware. Knowledge was applied in a joint international project to build an interactive hardware model and digital twin of the Japanese university’s campus based on footfall data collected by Japanese students during one week of busy campus life. Teams from 6 countries worked collaboratively to produce an amazing result.
